Mountain Kids International is a nonprofit extension of Mountain Kids Pediatrics, created from a simple but meaningful idea:

**That every child, no matter where they live, deserves access to compassionate, quality care.**

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Mountain Kids International exists to raise awareness and support for children and families (both here in Missoula and around the world) who are facing challenges related to healthcare access.

What began as a local practice rooted in connection has grown into an opportunity to support pediatric care on a global scale, staying grounded in the same values that guide our work here at home.

What is

the partnership

Dr. Hastings and his oldest son, Smith, traveled to Guinea to explore a potential partnership with a pediatric clinic serving children and families in their community. What they found was a team of deeply committed providers, offering care with limited resources, but extraordinary dedication.

Rather than stepping in, the focus was on listening, learning, and understanding how to best support the work already being done.

That experience became the foundation for Mountain Kids International.

Today, we partner with a pediatric clinic in Guinea through our connection with Hope Ignited. This relationship is rooted in mutual respect, shared purpose, and a long-term vision for sustainable impact.

In addition to financial support, we are committed to building meaningful, ongoing connections — supporting both the needs of the clinic and the people who serve there. Members of the Mountain Kids team will also periodically travel to serve alongside our partners, continuing to strengthen these relationships over time.

The impact

In 2025, with support from our Mountain Kids community, we donated over $10,000 to this work.

In addition, Mountain Kids Pediatrics contributes 1% of all patient and insurance payments directly to Mountain Kids International — meaning that simply being part of our clinic helps support care for children and families around the world.

These contributions help provide:

Essential medical care for children
Resources and support for local providers
Medical supplies and ongoing clinic needs
Support for team members serving on mission trips

Every contribution, whether through care at our clinic or direct giving, helps expand access to care where it is needed most.
